VikinX Configuration, Control and Monitoring
Along with the broad range of VikinX routing switchers, Nevion Europe provides a number of powerful methods for the direct and remote control of all switching devices. From simple single bus and X-Y control panels for smaller applications to advanced IP control panels, SNMP control and web client for highly flexible large router applications, there is always a control set-up that fits your needs.
System Configurator Software
New panel configurations are easily set-up using the VikinX System Configurator software tool, developed to eliminate the obstacles installers and operators face when configuring complex routing solutions. The VikinX System Configurator accommodates wizards and convenient drag & drop menus to guide operators, however inexperienced, through the installation process.
Router Controller
With the VikinX Modular router controller, SYSCON, we have taken system security to new heights. Through our fully redundant control architecture, from independent control ports on the router to the crosspoint switch controller, we offer the highest reliability possible in a routing system. The SYSCON control system completely eliminates single points of failure, such as changeovers, centralized main controllers, etc.. For extra security, SYSCON retains the system database in an easily removable Compact Flash card and provides both serial and Ethernet/IP interfaces. The IP connectivity allows the remote operation of a routing system, whether the system is in the next room or on another continent. Our intelligent IP control panels automatically obtain the IP address of the redundant SYSCON in case of a fault on the main controller.
SNMP control
With the GYDA-VX monitoring and control device we offer signal diagnostics through a user friendly web interface as well as via SNMP control, enabling our routers to be controlled by a Network Management System.
Intelligent Control panels
Our intelligent control panels elegantly provide features and user interface flexibility that our competitors would typically provide through the interoperation of a number of control solutions. With the VikinX panels you can create an unlimited number of different user interfaces exactly fitting your operational requirements. Each control panel has Software Configurable Keys, allowing straightforward Single Bus or X-Y operation, in addition VikinX panels support complex Multi-Level / Multi-Crosspoint operation. The Expandable Panel Concept allows users to group several panels into one logical control unit. Customised Surface Design provides unlimited freedom through customisation of button lay-outs.
