A major government facility and long-standing Nevion customer uses optical fiber throughout its properties to facilitate HD video and data transmission. Its network of over one thousand links provides the capability of transporting signals unhampered for facility surveillance and range monitoring, as well as supporting coverage of newsworthy events.

Nevion provides standards-compliant and hardened (NEBS level 3 certified) equipment to ensure that this optical network remains well managed, monitored, efficient and future proof. Nevion assisted this customer by developing equipment to meet some of the customer’s special signaling and telemetry requirements. Ventura networking cards collect and deliver these time-critical signals through the same optical links that carry video and data signals. Throughput on many fiber links is maximized with Nevion CWDM and TDM multiplexing. Links can be quickly re-purposed using hot-swappable cards and small form-factor pluggable (SFP) components, which greatly simplify wavelength changing and reduce the cost of sparing.
