Nevion offers valuable alternatives to laying new fiber to cope with increased bandwidth requirements as HD content expands and availability spreads. Wavelength division multiplexing (WDM), techniques in time division multiplexing (TDM), and high bit rate communications have vastly increased the capacity of a single fiber. With Nevion solutions, up to 16 wavelengths can be multiplexed on a single fiber using CWDM while up to 40 wavelengths can be multiplexed using DWDM. Modules can also multiplex up to 6 HDs—and 2 SDs—on a single wavelength for maximum capacity—240 uncompressed HD-SDI signals using DWDM and TDM technology.
